Power of the Coach
High Performance’s experience in training and consultancy internationally, nationally and in Tasmania has confirmed: whatever level, type or size of business the coaching of key executives is by far the most productive and effective method of implementing successful change. Since 2003 High Performance has coached many of our clients as part of their continuing and on-going development.
Not Mentoring….Accountability
High Performance coaches lead a one-on-one process which enables the client to have a confidential, non-judgmental space to discover, develop and plan ideas away from the day to day work environment. High Performance coaches excel at helping people identify their natural abilities and work with them to find ways to manage their limitations. Instead of ‘mentoring’ clients with advice, High Performance coaches seek to hold the client responsible to their agreements.
A Sign of Strength Not Weakness
High Performance views Executive Coaching as a performance tool to be used in the same way that top athletes are coached to achieve results above and beyond that of their competitors. High Performance coaches assist executives and managers in building on their inner abilities, training and personal qualities to achieve greater performance and results. Knowing what you don’t know and acting upon that knowledge by gaining support is a key strength in top performing individuals.
Confidentiality – Trust – Respect
At High Performance we know that being a coach for someone is a privilege; it is important to really hear their ‘story’. We understand the trust and faith placed in us when a client shares their career and professional development issues and goals. We realise that being a coach carries a high level of confidentiality, trust and respect. Our coaches are selected for each client with these qualities in mind.
Who Benefits From Coaching?
Coaching is used in variety of client situations. Leadership development programs often involve a 360 degree assessment and feedback which aligns very well with a personal coaching program. Sometimes participants in a workshop may need on-site coaching shortly after the session to support the transference of ideas into action. Sometimes individual staff challenges are better handled in a one-to-one coaching session where the ‘cards can be laid on the table’.
Choosing the Right Coach
High Performance uses different coaches for different situations and individuals; an initial complimentary meeting ensures that there is a natural connection between coach and client. Sometimes clients will interview several High Performance coaches before making the decision to commence a program; it is all about the right ‘fit’.
